The Vijay International School Praslin (VISP)
The Vijay International School opened in late September 2008. It presently operates as an independent institution which maintains important ties with the International School Mahe. The schools are recognised as ’sister’ institutions. VISP educates 150 students in Years Reception 1 to 8. The first IGCSE cohort will commence in 2013. There are no plans for the school to offer A levels and Praslin students who complete IGCSEs will have the opportunity to continue their education within the international system by enrolling in the ISS Mahe Sixth Form.
Where is Praslin and Where Is the School Located?
The island of Praslin sits approximately 35km north east of the main island of Mahe. It is the second largest of the Seychelles islands and also the second most populated. The site of the Praslin school is on a small promontory in Baie St. Anne – a locations which is both beautiful and practical, allowing easy access for students living on Praslin and La Digue (via the Inter-Island Ferry).
