LATE CLASS

School Day

Please note that children in the Junior Section must be collected promptly at the end of the day. Parents will be telephoned at 2.45pm if their child is still on site. The school reserves the right to transport the child to the parent’s location by taxi at the expense of the parent. These measures are in the interest of the health and safety of the children. The first late class is intended for students who have siblings in the senior school, while the second late class is reserved for staff children only. Parents are expected to be responsible and punctual in collecting their children

HOUSE TEAMS

School Day

The children are each placed in a house team (Aldabra, Fregate, Desroches, and Cardinal) whereby they earn house points for their various achievements throughout the week. Children will be placed in the same house as their siblings.

UNIFORM AND PE KITS

School Day

Students can purchase their uniform (blue shorts/skirt, green ISS t-shirt from the office. Children are expected to come to school dressed in the uniform and they are expected to keep their uniform clean and presentable. Students are expected to wear proper footwear throughout the school day—either shoes or sandals with heel straps.

Students can also purchase their PE kit (house team shirt) from the office. Children are expected to wear trainers, shorts, PE shirt and hat for all PE lessons. Children are then expected to change back into their regular uniform for the remainder of the day.

Please note that the Junior Section is introducing a new shirt for the 08-09 academic year. This shirt will be on sale for the duration of the 08 academic wear. Both the green shirt and the new blue golf shirt will be acceptable for term I and then with the start of term II we expect that the blue golf shirt will be the standard shirt throughout the junior section.

EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

School Day

The Junior Section boasts an extremely busy Extra Curricular Activity Schedule. And in keeping with the Junior Section philosophy we aspire to offer activities that will allow everyone the opportunity to develop and succeed.

The activities typically run from 1:45pm-2:30pm, Mondays through Wednesdays. It is important to note that many teacher offer additional activities off-site and outside of these hours to provide additional opportunities for students to be engaged in academic, athletic and interpersonal development activities.
