Dear Parents,
It was good to see so many of you this week to discuss how your children are settling in and answering your queries about aspects of school life. If you missed this opportunity due to other commitments, you may make another appointment at a mutually agreed time.
There will be a Parent Information Evening next week at 4.30 p.m. This is to inform you about the Foundation Stage Curriculum and how we teach the children at this early stage of schooling. We hope many of you will be able to make it. Should you not be able to attend, the details of the evening will be posted on the school website soon after.
Swimming lessons started this week and the children enjoyed splashing in the pool and getting used to the water.
Remember to label your child’s belongings and put them in a clearly labelled swim bag and don’t forget to pack a towel!
IMPORTANT REMINDER
School starts at 8 a.m. Children may be dropped off in the playground or class from 7.40 a.m, when supervision begins. It is not safe to leave your child unattended in the school grounds before this time.
Your continued support is appreciated.

Many thanks,
Jacquie Scott
Foundation Stage Co-ordinator

Dear Parents,
I’d like to welcome you all to the Foundation Stage section of ISS, whether you are returning after a long summer holiday or joining us for the first time
We welcome Miss Sheryl and Miss Nathasia to Reception 2S.
We are now settling into our normal school routines and the new children who have joined us already seem to be happy in their new classesEach half term, we will be covering different topics. Within these topics, we aim to cover the Foundation Stage Curriculum, in an interesting and fun way, as appropriate for children of this age group. The children in the Foundation Stage (Reception classes) work towards the Early Learning Goals, which are usually reached by the end of Reception 2.
We blend traditional teacher-led lesson delivery with child initiated learning. Our teaching methods cater for visual, auditory and kinaesthetic learners.
Each Friday, you can access the newsletter on the school website. It is intended to inform you of the week’s events, the following week’s focus, ideas for Home Learning and dates for your diary.
Please inform us if you require a hard copy, due to lack of a computer!
I trust you will find this useful and informative and welcome your constructive comments and feedback!
