| Dear Parents and Carers,
This term we have a number of children who are leaving or have already left ISS. We hope they take with them fond memories of our school and wish them success and happiness in their new countries and schools. They can keep in touch with what is happening at ISS through the website– www.internationalschool.sc
Thank you for the sponsor money handed in at the beginning of this week for the Sponsored Spell. We wait with bated breath to see how much we raised altogether!

Reception News 20.6.08 This Week’s Topic
This week, we continued to learn about the different food groups and the balance of the different foods we should eat. In Miss Jacquie’s class (R2J), we made our own wholemeal rolls and some tasty soup.
We enjoyed listening to stories by Pat Hutchins such as “The Doorbell Rang” and “Don’t Forget the Bacon”. We made play dough by ourselves and observed the changes as we added different ingredients and heated it up. It was great fun to add colour and smell to it!
Miss Louise’s class(R2L) looked carefully at some real fruits and painted beautiful still life pictures which are on display in the classroom.
Miss Janice(R1J) has been making full use of the class computer, using it to show the children animated stories and pictures relating to the topic. She is looking forward to an interactive whiteboard in the future!
In Miss Vivienne’s class, the children have continued to produce lovely art for the classroom walls. They have a beautiful apple tree on display.
This is just a snapshot of the topic work going on. The children have been covering all areas of the curriculum throughout the week.
Have a good weekend!
Jacquie, Louise, Janice, Vivienne, Sylvie, Hafiza, Sheryl Gina and Irene.
