Reception News 30.5.08 This Week’s Topic This week, we explored space and other planets. We took imaginary journeys on our magic carpet and made pirate maps to locate hidden treasure. We shared many magical stories about imaginary journeys. In Mathematical Development, Reception Two continued to learn about 3D and 2D shapes – naming and describing them. They have made some wonderful shape pictures using a variety of media. Reception One continued to practice their counting and number writing skills. They also learned to recognise some of the common flat shapes. We are also working on patterns. R1 are learning to copy patterns, with some children continuing the pattern further.
