During our English lessons in Y8 we studied extracts from some of Shakespeare’s plays and were asked to design a stage set for one of them. These are a few of our project designs :

“English Literature is a subject that allows self-expression. As a class, we study novels, plays and poetry that we can individually relate to.”
Tara Moncherry
“The teacher is enthusiastic and passionate about her subject, which creates a good environment for students to learn.”
Aimee Capaldi

“Students are required to carry out individual research in order to aid their understanding of the literature texts. Class discussions are always encouraged and help students voice their thoughts and opinions.”
Juliette Noshir
“Learning of the great authors of the past, we improve our literary skills and understand all aspects of the English language.”
Neil Moncherry
“I highly recommend this subject. FULLSTOP”
Camille Fuchot

“One aspect of the English Literature course I don’t particularly like is the fact we are examined under a closed-book system. However, I do not regret taking English Literature. It has helped me to think laterally and express myself with greater ease.”
Alison Ah-Yu
“I enjoy English immensely. At the moment, we’re studying township plays and I am engrossed in South Africa and its history.”
Rosabelle Mederick
